Dubai-UAE: 25th January, 2018 – Dubai Properties is proud to host the annual Dragon Boat Race at Marasi Business Bay from 9-10 February. The 11th edition of the popular water sport race will welcome an estimated 5,000 spectators and over 1,500 participants across 75 teams. The 2018 edition of the race promises to be the biggest yet!
Visitors and fans, attending the race, will be treated to great views of the action along the Marasi Promenade. The city’s newest marina at Marasi Business Bay will be decorated in celebration of the Chinese New Year, offering fun-filled day with family activities, entertainment, a live DJ and Dubai’s best food trucks.

Corporate and social teams: AED10,000
Schools and universities: AED2,500
Individual participants: AED500
Participating teams will be provided with a dragon boat and all necessary equipment on day of race. Teams will also receive two dedicated training sessions with an International Dragon Boat coach.
Race participation is for 20 team members per boat, with a maximum of 16 males on a team.

About Dragon Boat Racing in the UAE
Dragon Boating was first established in the UAE over a decade ago and has now grown to a popular water sport, with over 10,000 participants a year at various Dragon Boat events throughout the UAE. Dragon boating is an exhilarating team water sport involving 20 paddlers, men and women, one helm and one drummer. The sport originated over 2,500 years ago in China.
