A shoreline with pristine sea views; a historic creek bridging old and new; visionary marinas and winding canals: while the global perception of Dubai’s landscape often starts in the sky, a sizable portion of it takes place near to water. In recent years, there has been a gradual revolution and movement to waterfront properties, with homeowners lured by the dream of peaceful vibes, covetable conditions and irresistible views. Here, we offer a snapshot of what these neighbourhoods and homes have to offer, and look at the variety available with Dubai Properties.
By the beach
Dubai’s coastline is a magnet for luxury properties, but few elevate that to the heights aimed for at JBR/1.
Our 43-storey tower is all set to become the jewel in the crown of Jumeirah Beach Residence, a bustling multi-purpose cultural and retail neighbourhood built with sea and sand at its feet. From the bottom to the top (there are two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments and five-bedroom penthouses along the way), this in-progress vertical community redefines class: on the ground floor, you’ll find a pool area that meanders down to a private-access beach. Every plot has a sundeck, with these vantage points giving you breathtaking views of Palm Jumeirah, the newly completed Dubai Eye and, of course, a bird’s eye perspective of the Persian Gulf stretching over the horizon.
Creekside
Dubai Creek reserves a special place in the heart of the city. In recent years, this important waterway has undergone a transformation, with a slew of residential, retail and hotel developments now decorating its banks. Dubai Wharf, part of our Al Jaddaf Waterfront community, endeavours to blend aspects of contemporary living – the neighbourhood is fully stocked with amenities and facilities – with Arabesque architecture in an effort to pay homage to Dubai’s cultural diversity and newer identity.
A short walk further along the creek is Manazel Al Khor, another attractive proposition for those desiring to live creekside: this peaceful oasis has a well-established authentic vibe, perhaps illustrated best by its sand-coloured buildings, which make the community look and feel right at home in this traditional part of town, as well as a private marina berth and fleet of cosmopolitan communal facilities.
By the canal
Perched on top of Dubai Canal and just a 15-minute walk from the Burj Khalifa, Marasi Business Bay connects land to water in the most exhilarating, inspiring fashion. Verdant pockets of landscaped space define the 10 kilometre stretch of walkway that snakes around this new expanse of downtown water. An urban core of boutique shops, leisure facilities, hotels and floating restaurants offer everything a young professional wants and needs, while sweeping vistas of some of the city’s most famous landmarks are enhanced by the stunning expansive glass façades on the residences, comprised of one- to three-bedroom apartments.
