Who are Eligible to Apply?

Investors having no less than AED 10 million worth of public investment, either in the form of an investment fund or a company can apply for the 10-year visa. However, at least 60% of the total investment must be in sectors other than real estate and the invested amount must not be loaned. Also, the investor must invest in a property of a gross value of not less than AED 5 million and must be able to retain the investment for a minimum of three years as well. The long-term visa can also include the holder’s spouse and children, as well as one executive director and one advisor.

Entrepreneurs partnering in an existing or new company with a share value of not less than AED 10 million or having an existing project with a minimum capital of AED 10 million, or those who have the approval of an accredited business incubator in the country are eligible to apply for the Business Investor visa.

Besides investors and entrepreneurs, individuals with outstanding talents the likes of doctors, researchers, scientists, medical professionals, and exceptional high school and university students can also apply for the visa. These individuals may be granted a 10-year visa following accreditations granted by their respective departments and fields, and the visa will also be extended to their spouses and children.

Three-year Investor Visa

Investors can expect to receive residency in exchange for their investment in real estate through the three-year investor visa. The requirement for the three-year investor visa is a qualifying investment of at least AED 750,000 plus associated admin and processing costs. Family members are also eligible for residence.

Five-year Retirement Visa

The retirement visa category will allow them to take up residence in any emirate and benefit from the same government benefits and incentives as UAE nationals.

Investors above the age of 55 can take up residence in any emirate and benefit from the same government benefits and incentives as UAE nationals by making a substantial investment to the country. With the 5-year retirement visa scheme, individuals that meet any one of the below financial requirements can renew their 5-year visa:

• Invest in Dubai property worth Dh2,000,000 ($542,000)
• Have savings worth at least Dh1,000,000 ($271,000)
• Have an active income of at least Dh20,000 ($5,417) per month.
